Alaska Day 2021

I was commissioned to make a pin for the annual Alaska Day that takes place in Sitka, Alaska in collaboration with my classmate, Keelty Wyatt. We were asked to design the commemorative button, which is a tradition for Alaska Day, that represents the current year and acts as a keepsake for attendees. The theme of 2021 was "Come Together" which celebrates the many cultures that have reached Sitka, including the native Tlingits, Russia, and the United States. The various vessels and the tip of the peninsula "come together" in the shape of the star paired with the Big Dipper. The design was featured during the festivities and advertising.
